MEET DR. JENNIFER YU
MEET DR. JENNIFER YU, PEDIATRIC DENTIST
Dr. Jennifer Yu was born and raised in Hawai'i, leaving her home state for Tufts University, where she received her Bachelor of Science with a double major in Biology and Asian Studies.
Wanting to follow in the footsteps of her father, who is also a dentist, she continued on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Colorado School of Dentistry. Dr. Yu then completed a general practice residency, focusing on medically compromised patients, complex dental cases, and surgical procedures. It was during this residency that she realized how much she enjoyed working with children and decided to dedicate her career to pediatric dentistry.
Dr. Yu went on to complete her pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital, Denver, focusing on working with patients with cleft lip and palate as well as receiving a certificate in nasoalveolar molding from New York University. She is also a distinguished Fellow of American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. After her residency, Dr. Yu worked for two years in New York and another two years back in Denver, ultimately finding her home here in San Francisco in 2008.
Dr. Yu has volunteered her time for children in Denver, New York, and San Francisco and is humbled to have the opportunity to help keep smiles on the faces of so many diverse communities.
Dr. Yu lives in Belmont with her husband, two daughters, and their dog, Hoku. Together, they enjoy dancing hula, gardening, crafting, and spending time together.
